Burnley sign France U21 winger Tchaouna from Lazio

Burnley Football Club has announced the signing of Loum Tchaouna, a talented winger from France's Under-21 national team, from Lazio. The 21-year-old has joined the Premier League club on a five-year contract, with the transfer fee reported to be around £13 million. Tchaouna's impressive performance at the recent European Under-21 Championship, where he played a pivotal role in helping France reach the semi-finals, has drawn attention and ultimately led to his move to Burnley. He is the fourth player to be signed by Burnley this summer, following the acquisitions of defender Axel Tuanzebe, left-back Quilindschy Hartman, and goalkeeper Max Weiss, as the team prepares to strengthen its squad following promotion to the top tier of English football.

In a statement regarding his transfer, Tchaouna revealed that a conversation with Burnley’s manager during the European tournament significantly influenced his decision to join the club. The young winger began his professional career at Rennes, making his senior debut at just 17 years of age in September 2021. He has since had loan spells at Dijon and Salernitana before making a permanent move to Lazio.
