Arsenal in talks to sign Valencia defender Mosquera

Arsenal Football Club is actively pursuing the signing of defender Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia as part of their summer transfer strategy. The 20-year-old Spaniard, who is capable of playing both center-back and right-back positions, has emerged as a primary target for the Gunners. Mosquera, a graduate of Valencia's academy, has made a total of 90 appearances for the club since his debut in 2021. His strong performances last season, where he played the full 90 minutes in 37 out of 38 La Liga matches, have drawn the attention of Arsenal's management, particularly as they aim to bolster their defensive lineup. While Arsenal has also shown interest in Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi, the England international may hesitate to join due to the competition for playing time behind established defenders Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba at the club.

In addition to their pursuit of Mosquera, Arsenal has been busy in the transfer market, reportedly nearing a deal for Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard, with a fee of up to £15 million agreed. Norgaard is expected to undergo a medical soon. Furthermore, the Gunners are on the brink of finalizing the signing of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, which would add depth to their squad. Arsenal's recent activity also includes the signing of 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly, who has committed to a five-year deal after establishing himself as a regular in Mikel Arteta's side last season, during which he made 39 appearances.
