While popular destinations such as the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul and the picturesque Ölüdeniz beach are well-known, there are countless hidden gems waiting to be discovered. The Guardian is inviting readers to share their favorite lesser-known spots in Turkey, whether they be charming coastal villages, unique dining experiences, serene mountain retreats, or scenic hiking trails. This initiative aims to highlight the diverse experiences Turkey has to offer beyond the typical tourist attractions and encourage travelers to explore the country more deeply.

To incentivize participation, the competition features a prize of a £200 voucher for a stay at a property listed with Coolstays, which boasts a portfolio of over 3,000 unique accommodations worldwide. The best submission, selected by Tom Hall from Lonely Planet, will be published in the Guardian Travel section. Participants are encouraged to keep their tips concise, around 100 words, and can submit accompanying photographs, although the focus will be on the quality of the written tip. This competition is open exclusively to UK residents and entries must be submitted by June 30 at 10 am BST.
